International Marine Services (IMS) of France has just completed the successful installation and commissioning of five Seakeeper Model 7000 Gyro Stabilizers on a Couach 3700 Fly yacht. The 37 meter Couach yacht MY Kadimo'S is a 2007 model and displaces 130 tonnes (286,000 lbs). Five Gyro Stabilizers were required to provide adequate roll reduction on a yacht of this displacement.
During the sea trials in 0.5 meter beam seas at zero speed, roll rate reductions of 60% were obtained. This level of roll reduction significantly increases the comfort level of the yacht’s passengers. Couach and IMS were very pleased with the performance obtained and plan to install Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizers in their next two yachts that are scheduled for delivery in early 2009.
