Dealer Sales Representative – Italy & Malta

What’s your title with Seakeeper?

Dealer Sales Representative – Italy & Malta

Briefly describe your role at Seakeeper as if you were explaining it to someone in another department. What’s your day-to-day like? What’s your piece in the Seakeeper puzzle?

My role is to grow Seakeeper’s sales in my area by managing our Dealer network. I do my best to grow Seakeeper’s awareness to as many people as possible. I keep Dealers updated on all the latest news, and I support them in commercial negotiations with the end customer. I like to be present at the marinas to give all the information about our wonderful product, organize sea trials with our demo boat and keep the Seakeeper flag flying high!

What were you doing before you joined the Seakeeper team?

Before joining Seakeeper I was in sales for hotels and tourism, dreaming about the boating industry.

When did you start at Seakeeper?

December 1st, 2018

How have things changed since then?

When I started, our office in Lavagna had only recently opened. We were out looking for people to show the product to and explain that stabilization was possible on their boats; and now people are looking for us by name. Everyone in the area knows us. They know who we are and what we do. They know Seakeeper and they love it. We are the heart of Seakeeper in Europe.

What’s the most interesting or challenging job you’ve been confronted with at Seakeeper?

In addition to managing the Dealer network, I get the opportunity to establish relationships with many specialists in the sector, including OEM dealers, charter companies and often, the end customer. This is helpful in order to have a better overview of the market.

What is one of your biggest personal accomplishments at Seakeeper?

In the 2018 I started as a Sales Assistant, and in a short time I had the opportunity to grow and learn a lot to become a Dealer Sales Representative. The greatest satisfaction was, in a difficult year like 2020, to see the sales in my territory increase.

What do you like most about working at Seakeeper?

I like being part of a young team that wants to grow and knows how to face changes. At the same time, I like to sell a product that makes people happy and satisfied with their purchase.

What do you find most challenging about your particular role?

Especially in a special year like the last one, the main challenge was to find alternative solutions, for example, the lack of events. We organized demo weekends, virtual meetings, etc. I love the freedom we have to express our opinions and to propose creative solutions.

Our company is growing fast—what advice would you give to new hires?

Be yourself, don’t be afraid to prove something you are not yet. The power of a team is to know how to grow together. Another important thing is to have fun doing what you do.

Who’s one person at Seakeeper that’s had the greatest impact on your time here?

I know it seems trivial but for me, the whole team has made a great impact on my time at Seakeeper.  If I had to pick one, I am grateful to Tanja Lutz for the opportunity she has given me and for what she has taught me.

Do you have a personal motto or mantra? What is it? Why?

Constancy does not begin, but is that which perseveres. – Leonardo Da Vinci

I believe that in all things, the difficult part is not starting, everyone can do it. The real challenge is to continue and keep the commitment to grow.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise the rest of us.

I lived in the north of Italy for a year (Bologna). Then I ran away because I missed the sea!
