What’s your title with Seakeeper?

Mechanical Assembler

Briefly describe your role at Seakeeper as if you were explaining it to someone in another department. What’s your day-to-day like? What’s your piece in the Seakeeper puzzle?

I make sure the spheres are balanced in the gribvac area of assembly. I also help to train new employees and if needed, as well as helping in the foundation area of assembly.

What were you doing before you joined the Seakeeper team?

I was working at FM Brown as a supervisor, material handler, and lead.

When did you start at Seakeeper?

November 2021 – it was the day after Halloween!

How have things changed since then?

We’ve hired a lot of new employees and a lot of new faces.  Our plant layout is completely different.  I’ve learned the different models because we now have the Seakeeper 10, Seakeeper 4.5 and Seakeeper 4 models.  I haven’t learned the Seakeeper 14 yet, but I will!

What’s the most interesting or challenging job you’ve been confronted with at Seakeeper?

I think it was to learn foundation assembly.  I was in my comfort zone in the gribvac area and it was something completely different.

What is one of your biggest personal accomplishments at Seakeeper?

I think I’m a good trainer. I often train new hires for their roles and get positive feedback about their training experience!

What do you like most about working at Seakeeper?

I like my schedule of four 10-hour days and the opportunity to work overtime on Friday if needed.

What do you find most challenging about your particular role?

Troubleshooting in foundation.

Our company is growing fast what advice would you give to new hires?

You have to be good at multi-tasking.

Who’s one person at Seakeeper that’s had the greatest impact on your time here?

Just one?  My two are Rich Beeman and Larry Miller.  They’ve trained me from day one and showed me new things.

Do you have a personal motto or mantra? What is it? Why?

I don’t say “that’s not my job.” We’re all a team and we all have to work together.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise the rest of us.

I’m going to be a first time Grandma – one is due October 31st and the second in December.  Both of my girls blessed me at the same time!
