Manufacturing Systems Engineer
My job can be hard to pin down since it really changes day-to-day. I deal with a lot of the maintenance of proprietary Seakeeper equipment. I also work on defining and improving internal manufacturing processes, and I spend time doing failure mode and root cause analysis.
I was working my way through school in the construction industry.
August of 2012.
Seakeeper is almost unrecognizable compared to when I started here. We have grown so much and added so many new people, new products, and new facilities. I just feel lucky to have been here and had the opportunity to be part of it all.
Having been a part of the product engineering team during the launch of the entire current model series, we had what sometimes felt like a never-ending list of challenging projects. But in my current position, the most challenging things are typically failure analysis, when we have a run of issues on a model we can spend a lot of time digging into it before solving it.
I have been given a great opportunity to grow here. At times it has been challenging but it has also been very rewarding.
The constant change can be challenging but it also keeps you engaged.
That we are all still learning from the top down, we are all striving to make something better, and we don’t have all the answers.
I have had the good fortune to work with a lot of very helpful and thoughtful people in my time here and I have learned a lot from all of them.
