Scout Boats and Bertram Yachts Join
Builders Standardizing Seakeeper

Scout places record-setting order and Bertram standardizes across its brand

CALIFORNIA, Md. (May 17, 2018) – Seakeeper, Inc., the leader in marine stabilization, announces standardization partnerships with two key industry partners, Scout Boats and Bertram Yachts.

“Every day we’re seeing more and more builders adding Seakeeper to their models, not just as options, but as standard equipment,” said Andrew Semprevivo, Seakeeper President & CEO. “When air conditioning for cars was introduced, it was a luxury option. Now it’s standard across all brands and models. We’re heading quickly in that same direction with boat stabilization.”

Scout Boats

Scout Boats, based in Summerville, South Carolina, recently placed a record-setting order with Seakeeper, securing units for 2019 model year builds. This year alone they forecast the production of more than 1,000 boats.

Seakeeper will be included as standard equipment on all Scout 380 LXF and Scout 420 LXF models, utilizing the stabilizing power of the Seakeeper 3 and Seakeeper 6, respectively. Standardization for future models is also planned.

“We’ve already offered optional Seakeepers on many of our models, and we decided to standardize because of consumer demand,” said Alan Lang, Scout Boats Director of Sales and Marketing. “Building the best boats means providing a top-of-the-line product, and today, that means we have to deliver the best in stabilization and boating comfort.”

Bertram Yachts

Seakeeper will now be included as standard equipment on current and future models produced by Bertram Yachts, LLC. The yacht builder joins a host of other manufacturers offering Seakeeper as a standard on specific models but will be the first to standardize Seakeeper on all current and future models.

Bertram Yachts, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, produces two models; 35’, and 61’ which will receive the Seakeeper 6 and Seakeeper 16, respectively. A new, 50’ model equipped with the Seakeeper 9 will make its debut in 2019. The Bertram 35’ made its debut in 2017, the 61’ will splash in the summer of 2018, and production on the 50’ will begin in early 2019.

“Bertrams have a reputation for handling the worst of conditions with ease, so if we’ve got a hull that can go through anything, we need to make sure our customers are comfortable when they get there,” said Tommy Thompson, Bertram Yacht’s Vice President of Sales. “It only made sense to take that next step and make Seakeeper standard across our product line. Whether at rest or underway, Bertram Yachts are now stabilized, and it is a testament to how we take care of our owners.”

About Bertram Yachts, LLC.
Bertram Yachts got its start in 1960 when founder Dick Bertram – yacht broker, and powerboat racer built the first Bertram, the 31-foot Moppie, based on the Deep-V hull design he used to smash the Miami to Nassau race record. The Bertram 31 launched a line of performance and sportfishing boats that are known around the world for their excellent ride and seakeeping in unforgiving conditions. The company continues this tradition after a group headed by Mr. Beniamino Gavio acquired the business in 2015 and moved to a new shipyard in Tampa, Fla. Bertram began construction of a new 35’ model that honors the tradition of the classic 31’ using the most advanced design and construction methods.
